Friends, be careful of misinformation out there. An absurd number of facts on tumblr and even on news sites are fabricated and without sources, but these things shape our perceptions anyway. We have to be EXTREMELY vigilant and question the things we read. Always be searching for the truth, no matter how difficult or hopeless it seems

Ammar Al Attar, from the series Prayer Rooms, 2012 (source).

"Ammar Mohammed Al Attar surveys prayer rooms across the UAE. These informal worship areas are ubiquitous, providing Muslims a place for their five prayers a day regardless of their location. The decorative elements of these interiors are incredibly humble, in line with Islamic architectural tenets and in contrast to the exterior opulence of the UAE’s architectural development. Serenity and stillness are common elements in these makeshift rooms, transforming their spatial reality as industrial caravans or rooms in malls and business centers, to that of spiritual sanctuaries." THIS IS SERIOUS OK WE MUST HAVE ALOO IN THE BIRYANI

Lmao we take our biriyani very seriously. Didn’t know my brothers and sisters in Bangalore would be so adamant about chicken vs mutton though :)

It is a social norm to serve mutton biryani in weddings. because people will look down on you if you serve chicken which is quite cheaper than mutton. its all about pride and status. its quite sad things work this way.
